It's located on the first floor of the famous Christmas goods store, Käthe Wohlfahrt, and to get to the museum you have to walk through a good part of the enormous store.
The Christmas Museum has 250 square meters of exhibition space and shows the entire history of Christmas, from 1800 to 1960.
It also presents the first ornaments for trees made of glass, cotton, paper and wood, and the development of Christmas decorations during this period.
Paper nativity scenes, wonderful wax angels, the first Christmas cards and an impressive collection of Christmas trees from various eras are the museum's main attraction.
Beautiful little books with the main Christmas stories from the 19th century onwards are displayed with great emotion!
There are more than 5,000 items, and many of them were donated by people from all over the world.
