The Kalkofensteg is a picturesque wooden bridge located in the Ammer Valley, between the towns of Peiting and Böbing, in the Pfaffenwinkel region.

This bridge serves as a connection point for several hiking trails and is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and active tourists. It crosses the Ammer River, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Attractions and Activities:

- Hiking Trails: From the Kalkofensteg, visitors can access several trails, including the steep path leading to Schnalzgipfel, a 901-meter-high peak. This route is challenging, with over 200 meters of steep ascent, ideal for experienced hikers.

- Sinterterrassen: Near the bridge are the unique limestone terraces, formed by mineral deposits left by the river water. These geological formations are a natural spectacle and a point of interest for visitors to Pfaffenwinkel.

- Ammerlauf-Lehrpfad: The Ammerlauf-Lehrpfad, a nature trail of approximately 3 km, begins near Kalkofensteg. This educational route provides information about the flora, fauna, and geology of the region, making it ideal for informative and relaxing walks.
