A magnificent 40-hectare park situated alongside the Rhine. In the summer, this green oasis is ideal for relaxation or for engaging in a variety of sports.

The park was established in 1912 for an exhibition. It attained its current size only after World War II, when the first Cologne Garden Show was held in 1957.

To mark its 50th anniversary in 2007, the park was voted the "most beautiful park in Germany."

It annually hosts the famous Kölner Lichter (usually at the end of July), an event during which Cologne is spectacularly illuminated by fireworks. Additionally, various concerts and shows take place throughout the year.
