The city is 900 years old and is considered a gem of the Romantic Road. It has 2,000 inhabitants.

Everywhere, in its streets and alleys, there is a touch of romance and history.

It is surrounded by historic fortifications with well-preserved towers. The focal point of the medieval city center with its attractive half-timbered houses is the beautiful town hall built in Baroque style with its richly decorated portal.

Stroll through the narrow streets with their colorful houses and admire the sundials on the Sundial Path (Sonnenuhrenweg). There are 25 in total, scattered throughout the city. There is a special trail for you to find all 25 sundials. They are all different from each other.

Röttingen is also an important wine center in the Tauber Valley.
