Füssen flourished in the 15th century for its handicrafts and artisan work, mainly the manufacture of flutes and violins, and the artisans were concentrated on this street.

At the point where Reichenstraße begins to widen, as if it were a square, there is a cannonball still embedded in the wall of the Zächerlhaus. This cannonball was fired on July 11, 1800 by Napoleon's troops.
