The Gänsturm, also known as Unteres Tor, is one of Weikersheim's most iconic structures.

Built around 1320, this medieval tower served as one of the fortified entrances to the city, forming part of the city's defense system. Originally, the Gänsturm had a distinctive roof, but it was severely damaged during the final days of World War II. After demolition was considered, a grassroots initiative raised funds for its preservation, and in 2003, the Gänsturm was almost entirely restored, including the reconstruction of its characteristic roof.

Today, the Gänsturm houses the Stadtmuseum Weikersheim, the city museum, which offers a comprehensive overview of local history. The tower also provides panoramic views of the city and the surrounding area, making it a point of interest for both historical and tourist purposes.
