At the end of Maximilianstrasse you reach Ulrichplatz, where two beautiful churches are located: the large Catholic basilica of St. Ulrich and Afra, and the small Evangelical church Ulrichskirche

Since the 8th century, several churches have been built on this site in honor of St. Afra (†304).

In 973, the Bishop of Augsburg, Ulrich, was also buried there.
