It was the crossing point between the American and Soviet sides.

"Checkpoint Charlie" was the most famous border crossing in Berlin, open only to foreigners, diplomats, and members of the Allied forces, upon presentation of proper documents.

Right next to it is an interesting museum, opened in 1963, the Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, which tells the story of the wall and many other stories from the times of East Germany.

Opening

The museum is generally open from 10:00 to 20:00.

Tickets

Entry costs €18.50 for adults.

Address

Friedrichstraße 43-45
