In the old part of the city, between the Hofbräuhaus and the Opera House, lies this ancient 14th-century building.

Ludwig IV der Bayer lived there, and today visitors can find a very interesting tourist information and multimedia space.

The building has five different wings: Burgstock, Zwingerstock, Lorenzistock, Pfisterstock, and Brunnenstock.

The building was completely destroyed in World War II and rebuilt in 1950.
