St. Peter's Church is one of Munich's landmarks and is the oldest church in the city. It is called Alte Peter (Old Peter).

This spectacular church was built in the 11th century, renovated and expanded during the following centuries. The magnificent 18th-century gold altar and the ceiling frescoes that run throughout the nave are wonderful.

It is worth climbing its tower, with more than 300 steps, to appreciate the view of the city, and on a clear day, even see the Alps.
