The Berlin Olympic Stadium is located near Charlottenburg. Designed by the German architect Werner March, it was built between 1934 and 1936 for the 1936 Summer Olympics.

It replaced the German Stadium designed by Werner's father, Otto March, built between 1912 and 1913 to host the 1916 Summer Olympics, which were eventually canceled due to World War I.

It was restored for the 2006 World Cup in mid-2004. It hosted six matches, including Brazil's opening match against Croatia, won by the Brazilians 1-0, and the Grand Final between Italy and France, with Italy winning 5-3 on penalties. In 2009, it hosted the World Athletics Championships. The current capacity is 74,220 people.

It is currently the home of Hertha BSC Berlin, a German football team, and the Berlin Thunder, an American football club in the NFL Europe league.

In 1936, during the Olympics, African-American sprinter Jesse Owens became world-renowned for winning four gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters, the long jump, and the 4x100m relay, shattering Hitler's theory of Aryan racial superiority.

In 2026, the stadium continues to be the sporting heart of the capital:

- Home of Hertha BSC: it is the official stadium of the Hertha BSC football (soccer) club.

- 2026 Events: in addition to Bundesliga matches, the stadium is already preparing for major international summer concerts and is the permanent venue for the German Cup Final (DFB-Pokal), which traditionally takes place end of May.

The Olympiastadion is an open-air museum and offers several ways to visit:

- Visiting Tour: you can explore the site on your own or on guided tours that take you to the locker rooms, VIP areas and the players' tunnel.

- Olympic Park: around the stadium, you can visit the Bell Tower (Glockenturm), which offers an incredible panoramic view of Berlin and the Grunewald forest.
