At Marktplatz (market square), visit the magnificent Rathaus (City Hall) and its museum, the Historiengewölbe, which shows the city's situation during the Thirty Years' War. Weapons and military equipment are on display.

The annual staging of the play "Der Meistertrunk" takes place there. Incredible documentation recounting the entire history is housed in the Rathaus Museum.

In the city hall building, you can also climb its incredible 52-meter-high tower, with 220 steps (a sometimes claustrophobic staircase...), and enjoy the beautiful view of the entire city and its walls.
