The Peterskapelle, dedicated to the apostle Saint Peter, was built in 1180, making it the oldest sacred building in the city.

It appears in old documents as the "chapel before the gate" (Kapelle vor dem Tore), reflecting its strategic location next to the old cemetery until 1853, when the new cemetery was inaugurated on the other side of the railway.

Currently, the chapel is used as a cultural venue for smaller concerts, readings, and exhibitions.

The interior capacity allows for the accommodation of up to 85 people at the altar and another 15 people in the small gallery. The exterior area also serves for small receptions, taking advantage of the adjacent green space.

The Peterskapelle is a true treasure of local history, transmitting centuries of art, faith, and memory.
