The Crazy Horse Memorial is a massive project in South Dakota that aims to honor Indigenous people and their cultures. It features a colossal Mountain Carving of Lakota hero Crazy Horse, along with museums and educational programs. Visitors can learn about Native American history and traditions while witnessing the ongoing work on the mountain sculpture. With its commitment to unity and diversity, the memorial serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting different cultures.

Pro Tips:

  • In terms of sightseeing opportunities, this one is a bit more expensive compared to Mount Rushmore and surrounding parks. However, it is still being constructed (estimated completion in 2037!) We recommend reading the history behind the memorial and the Lakota people native to the area.
