This is another of my favorite spots in Iceland. The large beach and the iconic mountains are so beautiful. You need to pay small entry fee at the cafe to access the area.

There a few points of interest here. The dunes and super flat beach and are only a few minutes walk from the parking area/cafe. This is also the spot for great photos of Vestrahorn.

If you'd like to go all the way to the rocky cliffs to see the lighthouse and waves crashing near the huge radar station, pay the fee at the cafe and drive down the road for 5 minutes before turning left towards the parking area (just before the gate). The walk to the lighthouse is another 10 minutes from the car park.

If you have more time here, grab a small map from the cafe and follow their walking/hiking trails.
