Krafla is a geothermal area in the north and at the end of the road you'll find a waterfilled volcanic carter. This one is super cool and you can go for a walk around the whole crater. It takes about 30 min for a lap.

It's a bit difficult to find but just follow the road until it ends, driving under the power plant pipes.

Note: the road may be closed in the winter
