Þakgil feels like you are in the middle of the highlands, even though it's just 30 min from the Ring Road. The drive in is amazing with grand views. At the end of the road is a lush green valley and a campsite.

The road is accessible for all vehicles but it can be VERY bumpy. Use caution when driving here.

The campsite has a few bunk-style cottages available and a number of hiking routes nearby.
