Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall of Iceland. You can view it from both the east and west side. The west side is the most common one with a big parking lot and toilet facilities. The east side is a difficult and challenging road only suitable for a 4x4/4wd in the summer. It's about a 20 min walk from the west side parking lot to the waterfall and on this side you can also go see Selfoss waterfall. Do bring a waterproof jacket as the spray from the waterfall can make you very wet if the wind is from the wrong direction.
