Piazza dell'Anfiteatro is a public square located in the northeast quadrant of the beautiful walled center of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. It boasts an exciting history and some breathtaking sights! Formerly the site of a second century amphitheater, the square now houses four gateways which lead to the central tile of the square - here, a cross is carved into the ground with its arms pointing to all four gateways.
