The Eckenhütte is a simple, unmanned hut located on a hillside above Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From here, you'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including the Alpspitze and the Zugspitze.

The hike begins at the parking area of the Wank cable car. It takes about 1 hour to reach the hut (approx. 3.5 km and 320 m elevation gain). The trail is technically easy but includes steady uphill walking—sturdy footwear is recommended.

Just below the Eckenhütte lies the Tannenhütte, a serviced mountain hut offering regional Bavarian cuisine. It’s about a 15-minute descent (100 m elevation loss) from the Eckenhütte and a great spot for a meal with a view.
