The Falkenhütte is a popular mountain hut in the Karwendel range, offering stunning views and excellent regional cuisine. The hike starts at the end of the toll road leading to the Großer Ahornboden (toll: €7 per car/day, parking included).

From the parking area, follow the trail through the scenic valley and into alpine terrain:

• Duration: approx. 3 hours one-way

• Distance: 7 km

• Elevation gain: 750 m

The trail is a narrow mountain path with natural stone steps and root sections. There are no exposed or secured areas, but sturdy footwear and good footing are strongly recommended. The route is moderately demanding and suitable for fit hikers.

At the hut, you can enjoy traditional Tyrolean meals in a beautiful setting. Overnight stays are possible – reservation in advance (online or by phone) is recommended, especially during peak season.

The return follows the same route back to the Großer Ahornboden parking area.
