Dyea Campground is located in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site in Alaska and is one of my favourite campgrounds. It is a great spot for camping, fishing, and hiking. The campground is situated on the banks of the Taiya River and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It is a great spot for wildlife viewing, with bald eagles, moose, and bears often seen in the area. There are also plenty of opportunities for fishing, with salmon, trout, and char in the river.

Each camp spot is unique and come with a picnic table and fire pit. There are water pumps and outhouses which are surprisingly nice.

📱 There's no cell service or electricity

📍 Tip: Campsite are first come first serve so arrive in the morning to have a better chance of getting spot. I would go for a more sheltered campsite as the wind can be quite strong at times. To pay for your campsite there are permits and directions on how to make payment at a kiosk near the park entry.

📍 You are in bear country: Never leave food out or burn food in the fire pits.
