đŸ—ș How to Get There:
From BĂșðardalur, take Road 586 (Haukadalsvegur) east for about 8 km. Look for signs marking EirĂ­ksstaðir. The final section is a gravel track but easily accessible by regular car in summer.
💰 Entrance Fee (museum):
Adults: 2,000 ISK
Students/Seniors: 1,500 ISK
Children under 12: Free

📅 Best Time of the Year to Visit:
May to September. The museum operates only during the summer season when the longhouse is staffed by guides. Outside of these months, the building can be viewed from the outside.

Best time of day:

  • Afternoon light brings out the texture in the turf walls

  • Overcast days add atmosphere and historical mood

  • Golden hour can give warm tones to the surrounding landscape
