3 Days: Towada-Hachimantai National Park, Aomori

To fully enjoy the Tohoku region, you can either choose to fly into Aomori Airport or take the bullet train to Shin-Aomori Station. For maximum convenience, make sure to rent a car from the airport or the station. Sometimes it’s cheaper to fly, and other times it’s cheaper to get a JR Pass or a JR Tohoku Pass for access from Tokyo, but both travel options provide great flexibility.
