Peyto Lake is famous for its stunningly bright turquoise water, a sight you have to see to believe. From the car park, a short but steep paved path of about 15-20 minutes leads you up to the main viewing platform. The reward is an unforgettable panorama of the wolf-shaped lake and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. While there's no fee for the lake itself, you will need a Parks Canada Pass to enter Banff National Park. Stick around after dark for northern lights if you’re lucky. Flowers around here peak in mid August. You’ll find them along one of the side trails while adventuring.
