Welcome to Lake Minnewanka, or the "Water of the Spirits," a truly special place here in Banff. You'll be captivated by the stunningly clear, deep blue water set against a dramatic backdrop of rugged mountain peaks. It's the largest lake in the park, and you can feel its grandeur whether you're enjoying a picnic on the shore, taking the popular hour-long boat cruise out to Devil's Gap, or strolling along the scenic lakeside trail. The main viewing areas are just a short walk from the parking lot, making it easy to soak in those incredible views.
I've come here to watch the northern lights since it's so quick to town! I've also flown over here in a helicopter and the views were incredible, cannot recommend that experience enough.
A Parks Pass is required to visit here.
