Get up close and personal with a real-life glacier! The Athabasca Glacier is one of the most accessible ice giants in North America, and you can walk right up to its edge from the nearby car park in about 20 minutes. For a truly unforgettable experience, join a guided tour to safely walk on the ancient ice itself, marveling at the deep blue crevasses and the sheer scale of this natural wonder. These tours, which range from a couple of hours to a full day, are the best way to experience the glacier and are available from May to October.

RV Camping is allowed in the far parking lot.

The Columbia Icefield Interpretive Centre has a coffee shop brewing Starbucks treats, eats, and sips as well as bathrooms. You can book tours inside of it as well.

It does often get very smokey here, it is sometimes the smokiest part of the Icefields.
