Five Finger Rapids, also known as the Five Fingers, are a set of rapids on the Yukon River in Canada. These rapids were a major challenge for gold seekers during the Klondike Gold Rush, with only one narrow channel passable for canoes. Blasting was done in the early 1900s to widen the channel and make it easier to navigate. The rapids are mentioned in literature, including Jack London's "The Call of the Wild."

Eryn's Tips:

  • This is a great spot to stop and stretch your legs while driving to Dawson City! You can stay at the pull-off, walk down the first few flights of stairs to get some exercise in, or do the short hike down to the viewpoint of the rapids, which only takes around 20 minutes one way!
