The Matthew Watson General Store is a charming spot in Carcross, Yukon, that feels like a step back in time. Operating since the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush, it's a family-owned gem where you can browse antique goods, indulge in homemade fudge, and savour delicious ice cream in a cosy, historic setting. With a rich history and friendly atmosphere, it's a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

Eryn's Tips:

  • One of the oldest continuously operating stores in the Yukon! There are so many fun and unique items in here, and I always love to browse around! You can find clothing, art, trinkets, indigenous made goods and much more inside. (They also have some pretty hilarious signs.)

  • If you are a sweet treat kind of person, there is a big candy store with ice cream as well :) We will often wander around Carcross Commons and then grab an ice cream before getting back in the car and continuing our drive.

  • Also, the store is pink and super photogenic, so make sure to snap a few pics in front of it if you can! :)
