Hermitage Castle, located in the Scottish Borders, is a semi-ruined castle with a ghostly past. Built around 1240, it has a dark history involving witchcraft, regicide attempts, and border conflicts.

The castle passed through various noble families, including the Douglases and the Hepburns, before falling into disrepair after the Union of the Crowns in 1603.
