Gornergrat is an excursion destination in Zermatt that should be on everyone's list. For 125 years the cogwheel train takes people up from Zermatt ( 1600m) to 3100 meter above sea level. The ride takes 33 minutes. On the train ride you have constant views of the Matterhorn, once you arrive to the top, you have a 360 degree panorama views to the surroundings mountains and glaciers.

You can enjoy all year views of 29 mountains above 4000m in Switzerland and Italy. There are sun terraces and even a chapel.

Definitely worth the visit once you are in Zermatt.
