Description

The challenging hike up to Mallestiger Mittagskogel is a local favorite hike due to it's stunning panoramic views. The trail starts at the Baumgartnerhof and involves a steep, demanding ascent requiring good fitness and sure-footedness. As you gain elevation, the views become increasingly spectacular, opening up over the turquoise waters of Faaker See. The trail winds through forests and alpine terrain before reaching the summit ridge, where the scenery becomes truly unforgettable. The hike is approximately a five-hour round trip.

While the climb is physically demanding, the breathtaking views and peaceful mountain atmosphere make Mallestiger Mittagskogel one of the most rewarding hikes around Villach and Faaker See.
