Baggeridge Country Park is where woodland wanders meet tree climbing, train rides, mountain bike trails and a decent play area, all in one handy spot. It’s a great little escape for all ages, with something for the walkers, climbers, snackers and mini adventurers in your crew.

🚶‍♂️ Scenic Walks
There’s a lovely, easy 2-mile loop through woodland and meadows, past peaceful pools and up to hilltops with proper views. It’s a gentle one that takes around an hour; ideal for little legs and casual strollers alike. You could probably manage it with a trike/sturdy buggy and maybe a bike but there's a few sections of uphill so depends if you want the moan 😂

🛝 Playground + Mini Train Rides
The adventure playground is always a hit; there's swings, slides and a massive sandpit with a digger. And if you visit between April and October, keep an eye out for the miniature railway running. It’s a short, sweet ride but the kids love it.

Café & Pit Stop
The on-site tearoom is open year-round, serving everything from full-on breakfasts to cake and ice cream (for both humans and dogs!). There's also toilets and baby changing right next to the play area.

🌲 High Ropes & Outdoor Fun
For a bit of a thrill, the Challenge Academy High Ropes area is packed with climbing nets, obstacles and team-building style courses. It's a bit like a mini Go Ape and fab for older kids, teens, or anyone who fancies something a little more daring. Comes with extra charge and maybe booking required.

  • Location: Gospel End, Sedgley, DY3 4HB

  • Parking: Pay and display – £2 for 1 hour or £3.50 all day

  • Toilets: Yes, next to the play area

  • Opening Times: Open daily from 9am to dusk

  • Dogs: Welcome—just keep them on a lead in certain areas

  • Dress Code: The walk could get muddy if it's been raining as it's through some wooded areas and right next to a stream in one place so I'd suggest wellies and maybe waterproofs if your kids love to splash, but if you don't go for the walk then any footwear is fine as around the play area is clean!
