Looking for a peaceful, nature-filled day out that's perfect for all ages? The Wolseley Centre near Rugeley is a hidden gem that offers just that. With 26 acres of beautiful grounds, it's a haven for wildlife and a fantastic spot for families to explore, and it's FREE!

  • Accessible Trails: Wander along pushchair and wheelchair-friendly paths that meander through woodlands, wildflower meadows and around tranquil lakes

  • Boardwalks & Wildlife: Stroll along elevated boardwalks offering views over pools and the River Trent and keep an eye out for kingfishers, dragonflies and other wildlife

  • Sensory & Wildlife Gardens: Engage your senses in the sensory garden and get inspired by the wildlife-friendly display gardens

  • Duck Feeding: Pick up some duck food from the visitor centre (£2.50) and enjoy feeding the ducks with the kids

  • Paddling: Bring a towel and let the kids have a paddle in the stream

The centre hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, including:

  • Wildlings Sessions: Outdoor play sessions for toddlers, featuring activities like mud play and nature crafts

  • Nature Tots: Interactive sessions for young children to explore nature through stories and crafts

  • Wildfamilies Events: Fun-filled activities like pond dipping, den building and wildlife spotting for the whole family

After some adventure, the on-site café serves a range of homemade meals, snacks and delicious cakes. There's also a children's menu!
