Welcome to Stórhöfði, the southernmost tip of Heimaey island. Here you'll find one of the largest puffin colonies in the world, and from April to August, the cliffs are teeming with these charming birds. You can take an easy 3km loop trail around the headland, which offers magnificent views of the dramatic coastline and the vast Atlantic. It's famously the windiest spot in Europe, so be sure to hold onto your hat as you soak in the incredible scenery from the puffin lookout shelter.
