The Blüemlisalphütte SAC is located at 2840 metres above sea level. With 95 beds available and an easy reservation system, staying in the Bluemlisalp Hut makes for a truly unforgettable experience!

HIKING DETAILS:

Start at Kandersteg and take the cable car to Oschinensee that will save you around 500 meters of elevation gain. From Oscheninensee start heading towards the back of the lake, following the sign towards Blüemlisalphütte. Once you reach the back of the lake you will have some quick elevation gain. Still follow the sign towards the hut. You will have 1600 meter of elevation gain throughout 15,6 km so it is a long day hike. There are no fountains above Oscheninesee so highly recommend bringing enough water. Once you reach the hut I suggest you go to the right and check out the Blüemlisalp glacier which is very beautiful and still huge even tho it's melting.

After hanging out at the hut you can continue towards Griesalp which is located on the opposite side of the Kandersteg. The top section descending towards Griesalp is a little bit harder with chains and ladders also quite steep. If you don't wish to hike towards Griesalp, you can take the same way back to Kandersteg.

Once you reach Griesalp check the post auto schedule and ride down the crazy narrow mountain road. It is an adventure itself.
