Château de Gruyères is a famous castle located in the medieval town of Gruyères, Switzerland. It's like something out of a fairytale! Built between 1270 and 1282, this square-shaped castle has a rich history. It was once owned by the Counts of Gruyères until they went bankrupt in 1554. Since then, it has served as a residence for bailiffs and prefects, and even became an artists' colony in the 19th century. Today, it's a museum that showcases stunning landscapes by renowned artists and a collection of Fantastic Art. Plus, it's home to three capes from the Order of the Golden Fleece. So, if you're ever in Switzerland, don't miss the chance to visit this enchanting castle!

HOW TO GET THERE:

From Bern take the train to Belle and at Belle change trains to Gruyeres.

From Gruyere's train station walk 31 minutes to the castle or take the number 260bus to Gruyeres, Villa.
