Niederhorn is a mountain peak located in the Bernese Oberland near Beatenberg, Switzerland. Standing at an elevation of 1,963 meters, it offers breathtaking views of Lake Thun and the entire Bernese Alps. Visitors can reach the summit by taking a cable car from the village of Beatenberg, which also connects to the Thunersee–Beatenberg Bahn. At the top, there's a restaurant and a children's playground for some fun and relaxation. Wildlife enthusiasts will be delighted to know that Niederhorn is home to a population of ibex, red deer, golden eagles, and other alpine fauna. So, whether you're looking for stunning vistas or a chance to spot some fascinating wildlife, Niederhorn is definitely worth a visit!

There is also hiking trails you could take both in winter and summer.

Summer you can hike the Niederhorn Panoramaweg from the cable car station to Waldegg. 11 km with 380 meters of elevation in 3,5 hours. The hike is signed with number 342.

In winter you can hike the same way but with less elevation gain. It is 10 km long with 130 meters of elevation gain.

No matter if you just visit Niederhorn for the view or some hikes, you can't go wrong with it. Stunning place!

TIP: this is one of the best place to see cloud inversion in the late autumn months.
