The beautiful Etzel mountains lie in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland, near Lake Zürich. The mountain rises to a height of 1,098 metres (3,602 feet), and is particularly picturesque when viewed from the lake and the surrounding region. It offers stunning panoramic views over the lake, and at its summit sits an alpine Alpine inn. The mountain provides a popular destination for hikers, offering plenty of activities and attractions.

HIKE DETAILS:

Start : Pfäffikon SZ, Abzw. Etzelpass

Hike through the forest 6 km with an elevation gains of 400 meters and you will reach Etzel peak with the Hochetzel Berggasthaus on top. Here you can grab refreshment or lunch, and enjoy the view of Zürich lake and Einsiedeln. There is a small playground for kids as well.

On the way back you can take the same route back or hike back on the road that is used for cars.
