To the west of the mosque lies the old hamam, a rather unusual building when viewed from the front. The 15th-century Ottoman bathhouse is one of the very few remaining in the country. Until a few years ago, it was in a state of complete disrepair due to weather and fire damage.

In 2012, extensive and expensive restoration work began, financed largely by UNESCO.
