Prishtina is the young, dynamic, lively and modern capital of Kosovo. It is a lively place full of young people, which at first glance does not seem to reflect the difficult past and burden that the country has to bear. With its palpable joie de vivre, coupled with historically significant and captivating modern monuments, you will quickly fall in love with the city despite its lack of attractiveness and enjoy spending several days here.
In fact, Pristina is not really one of the most beautiful cities in Kosovo. Many old buildings have already disappeared under the modernisation of the Yugoslav government, and most of what remained fell victim to the war. Nevertheless, the city has managed to retain a spark of charm and, above all, it is characterised by a liveliness that can be felt everywhere, emanating mainly from the young population. Young people stroll through the pedestrian zone and boulevards, fill the bars and cafés, drink, talk and laugh...
Despite all its losses, Pristina has managed to preserve a small, historic city centre, and alongside all the new buildings, streets and modern cultural monuments, there is still an old Pristina with buildings worth seeing and almost forgotten details.
Especially when strolling through the winding alleys of the old town, you can still feel much of the Ottoman heritage. The sightseeing offer is rounded off by museums, galleries, art stages and, of course, there are also plenty of trendy pubs.
