The centre of the old town is formed by the 26-metre-high clock tower (Sahat-Kula) from the 19th century. It has a hexagonal floor plan and its lower 16.5 metres are made of sandstone, while the upper section was rebuilt in brick after a fire. It played an important economic role during the Ottoman period.

The bell, which originated in Moldova and was made in 1764, was stolen in 2001 and cannot be found. The building has been a cultural monument since 1976.
