In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful beaches on the South Island. It’s got this unreal contrast that you don’t see every day. One side has sand and lighter, murkier water, while the other side has rocks and this deep, clear blue colour. The way they sit right next to each other without mixing is actually kind of wild and beautiful.
The beach is all stones and rocks, so it gives off European summer vibes (minus the crowds and sunbeds ahaha). On top of that, you’ve got these lush green hills rising up on either side, making the whole place feel pretty special. I'd definitely recommend walking up the hill to the lookout.
Even if you’re not swimming, it’s a great spot to chill, take some photos, or just sit and watch the water. Seriously worth a visit if you're around Nelson.
