Skútustaðagígar is a row of pseudo-craters in North Iceland near Lake Mývatn. These crater-like formations were created by steam eruptions during a volcanic eruption, not actual lava. The area is surrounded by wetlands and is great for birdwatching.
Don't forget to visit ice cream shop next to it with local made ice cream!
Visitor centre next to it is also a great place to source information and they have an little free exhibition there as well.
