Askja is an active volcano nestled in the remote central highlands of Iceland. Only accessible during the summer months.

🚗 Road: F-road .You can take road F905 (easier with mid-sized vehicle) or road F88 (one bigger river crossings) .
đŸ…żïž Parking: Free

đŸš¶Distance: You have two options to see the caldera. First is to continue driving F894 and hike 30min from the carpark or hike from Dreki campsite all the way up to the top of the crater

❄ Winter: Not accessible. Road closes with first snow.
