Dimmuborgir is an unique lava field filled with twisted rock formations and caves with multiple well maintained walking routes of different lengths that you can choose from. Amazing place for relaxing walks and getting lost but in my opinion can be skipped if you're short on time.

🚗 Road: Paved
🅿️ Parking: Free

🚶Distance: 0.6-2km/0.4-1.3mi

❄️ Winter: Usually accessible, but walking can be difficult if there's too much snow

📝 Notes : Bathrooms on site

🥾 Hiking: 5 different paved walking routes of different lengths 0.6-2km/0.4-1.3mi. The area is relatively flat.

🚁 Drones: Many locations around Mývatn are protected or locally sensitive. Mývatn is a red-light location for recreational drone use under the current Nature Conservation Agency rules, but you may be able to get a verbal permission from a ranger (info centre) during winter/shoulder season months.
