This 4.5 hour tour in Skaftafell combines a glacier hike with beginner-friendly ice climbing on Vatnajökull. After gearing up with crampons, helmet, and ice axe, you hike across blue ice formations and crevasses before climbing a vertical ice wall with ropes set up by your certified guide.

With small groups of up to six people, you get hands-on instruction and a much more active experience than a regular glacier walk. It’s adventurous, physical, and one of the most exciting ways to experience Iceland’s glaciers.
