This full-day guided summit climb takes you to the top of Hvannadalshnúkur at 2,110 meters, the highest point in Iceland. Located on the rim of the Öræfajökull volcano, the route crosses glaciated terrain with hidden crevasses and requires long hours on snow and ice. No technical climbing skills are needed, but this is a demanding 12–15 hour effort that requires excellent fitness and prior mountain experience.

From the summit, you’ll see the vast outlet glaciers of Vatnajökull and the wide black sand plains stretching toward the coast. This is a serious, bucket-list level climb, not a casual hike, and one of the biggest physical challenges you can take on in Iceland.
