If you want a break from waterfalls and lava fields and try something genuinely Icelandic, this is a fun stop. Laugarvatn Fontana actually bakes rye bread underground using geothermal heat. You watch the team dig the pot up from the hot sand, taste it fresh with Icelandic butter, and it’s way better than it sounds. It’s a simple experience, around 30 to 40 minutes, and runs year-round with multiple daily times.
