Cave bears? Yep, they used to clomp around in the caves on the edge of historic Equi Terme. You can see one in the museum. It's stuffed, like you'll be if you eat at the fabulous Locanda Elena in town.

Equi Terme is perfect for activities like ziplining, rock climbing and caving adventures. The interactive earth science museum allows visitors to learn about why earthquakes occur or why the Mediterranean Sea was formed and then shaped the Apennines. If you've got kids in tow, the Kids Adventure Park offers youngsters the opportunity to try their hand at acrobatic courses, complete with ladders, rung walkways, Tibetan bridges, moving bridges, climbing nets and much more. All this is set amidst the therapeutic waters of the hypothermal Equi Terme, which are suitable for both bathing or drinking. As you see in the picture, the river has been deepened in pools and sectioned off for free use of the waters.

In winter, Equi Terme is famous for its living nativity scenes, presepi viventi, at night.
